“ADEKA MEVALONOLACTONE" is a functional component produced by yeast (Saccharomycopsis Fibuligera). Mevalonolactone is lactonized by the dehydration of mevalonic acid, which is a material for synthesizing coenzyme Q10, squalene and other substances in the body (see figure below). ADEKA succeeded with mass production of this mevalonolactone through fermentation for the first time worldwide.
Mevalonic acid is a substance which can be mixed into food as an existing additive. Mevalonolactone can be used for cosmetics as a material for quasi-pharmaceutical products.
