Respect for human rights is a Sustainability priority issue for the ADEKA Group, and promotes initiatives based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. From the perspectives of enhancing social value and achieving sustainable business growth, we have been conducting human rights due diligence(HRDD) since July 2024 to mitigate human rights risks across our entire supply chain.
STEP1:Human Rights Risk Assessment
With the assistance of external experts, we have conducted an assessment to identify potential negative human rights impacts arising from our business activities. To further clarify and specify these human rights issues and risks, we held workshops with our employees.
Workshop
To comprehensively identify human rights issues throughout our entire supply chain, we conducted a workshop with employees involved in our chemicals business* in this fiscal year. twelve participants, primarily department managers and section chiefs, attended. Following a lecture by an external expert, participants engaged in discussions about human rights issues, those affected by these issues, and potential countermeasures. *Polymer Additives, electronic materials, environmental materials.

The plan after the workshop
Based on the findings of this assessment, we will identify the human rights issues that our group should prioritize and develop prevention and mitigation measures. We aim to implement HRDD across all our business areas by the end of fiscal year 2026. Our group remains committed to respecting human rights throughout our supply chain. We will continue to report on these initiatives through our website, integrated reports, and other channels.
