ADEKA, in collaboration with Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc., has created a soft rubber-like insulation resin with high thermostability, "Nanotech Resin KA-100," that can withstand a temperature of 400 degrees Celsius. This resin is ideal as a protective coating material for SiC (silicone carbide) semiconductor devices, the power semiconductor of the next generation.
This is the first ever development of an insulation resin with such high thermostability for use in semiconductors, and is expected to prove useful in a wide variety of industries and fields.
