1. Social Contribution Activities

1-1. Community Interaction

Summer Festivals (Mie Factory)(1) Summer Festivals at Factories
  Each factory holds summer festivals as an opportunity for employees and local community members to interact.

(2) Exhibit at Industrial Fairs
  Each factory and Tokyo R&D Laboratory participated in local industrial and commerce fairs and interacted with local communities.

(3) Co-sponsored Arakawa Yosakoi Festival
  We co-sponsored Arakawa Yosakoi Festival, held at Shioiri Park. The purpose of the festival was to offer a place for social interaction among local residents.

1-2. Sports Promotion and Youth Activities

(1) Arakawa Ward Police Officesf Youth Judo and Kendo Competition, gAsahi Denka Cuph
Asahi Denka Cup  Asahi Denka and local police offices (Ogu, Arakawa, Minamisenjyu) co-sponsor martial arts competition for youth who belong to martial arts sports centers, at police offices. The competition started in 2000, aiming at raising healthy youth through sports.
  In 2004, competitive athletes who belong to Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department offered lessons and exhibitions. For Judo, Mr. Tomokazu INOUE, 100kg level competitor, whose brother is Olympic Gold medal athlete Mr. Kohsei INOUE, offered lessons. For Kendo, Terachi brothers offered exhibition matches.

(2) Sports Facilities Opened for Local Communities and Charity Soccer Competition
Charity Soccer Competition (Fuji Factory)  Fuji Factory opens its soccer ground for local kidsf teams and school activities free of charge. In March 2005, Fuji Factory co-sponsored a charity soccer competition, organized by a local soccer team. At the closing ceremony, donations were handed to Fuji Social Welfare Council.

Clean-up Campaign (Fuji Factory)1-3. Clean-up Campaign

  Each factory carries out regular clean-up of sidewalks, trees along the street, and areas surrounding the factory.

1-4. Disaster Emergency Support

  We sent donations for Niigata Earthquake victims through Japanese Red Cross Society. We also sent donations for Sumatra Tsunami and Fukuoka Earthquake victims through Japanese Red Cross Society. Employees at various factories and offices took a lead role in collecting money for victims.

1-5. Social Welfare

Exhibit at Nice Heart Festival(1) Exhibit at Nice Heart Festival, a Festival for Physically-Challenged
  In December, Nice Heart Festival for the physically challenged was held in Mito, Ibaragi. Kashima Factory donated 3,000 frozen cakes for participants.

(2) Donation of Christmas Cakes for Welfare Institutions
  For Christmas, Kashima Factory donated frozen cakes for five welfare institutions in Ibaragi Prefecture. Kashima Factory staff interacted with people at the institutions.

1-6. Promotion of Blood Donation

  Kashima Factory was given a certificate of appreciation for their promotion of blood donations from Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare at the 40th National Convention of Blood Donation Promotion. Asahi Denka factories hold organization-wide blood donations twice a year. Mie Factory was given a certificate of appreciation at the 39th Convention the previous year.

1-7. Traffic Safety Promotion

  Mie Factory holds traffic safety activities for school children every Monday morning.
