We have strengthened organizational structures for compliance and transparent management, as public awareness on corporate misdoing has risen.
(1) Confirmation of Industrial Waste Management Status
Status of industrial waste disposal management at each factory
Environmental protection officer of each factory inspects waste disposal contractors regularly and assures that waste is treated and disposed of properly. Credibility investigations of 10 industrial waste treatment companies were carried out in FY2004 (20 including those pursued in the previous year). Cancellation of contracts with companies evaluated below standard was considered.
Management system of manifest status at each factory was introduced and test operation started.
(2) Confirmation of Compliance Status
In FY2004, research on past regulation violation cases and corporation regulation violation was carried out. Based on the research result, violation prevention measures and reoccurrence prevention measures were reaffirmed.
Special facilities registration paper contents was checked and consistency of analysis data and reported data for the past three years were reaffirmed, as falsifying of water discharge data occurred in other companies.
Internal check system of facility planning regulations compliance were established and operated. Compliance of all facility construction in FY2004 was approved.
