We publicize our efforts on environmental protection and safety through communication both inside and outside of our corporation, including education and awareness raising campaigns, and information disclosure.
Internal Communication
We promote environmental safety activities through information exchange via the regular Liaison Conference and company magazine.
■ Practitioner Training
In order to utilize the infrared thermometer introduced in FY2004 for energy conservation diagnosing and equipment maintenance, training on measurement and analysis methods was held for practitioners of 6 Asahi Denka factories and alliance companies.
■ Utilization of Company Magazine
Asahi Denka sees the company magazine as an effective measure for “Four Safeties” promotion. The following articles were placed in the magazine.

External Communication
Asahi Denka Group cooperates with various organizations in local communities for accident prevention and environmental protection.
■ Tokyo Metropolitan High-Pressure Gas Accident Prevention Association
Asahi Denka, as a member of Tokyo Metropolitan High-Pressure Gas Accident Prevention Association, participates in annual high-pressure gas accident emergency drill of Tokyo Metropolitan Government. It is a disaster preparedness drill for toxic gas leakage accidents.
■ Environmental/ Safety and Sanitation, Disaster Prevention Information Disclosure
Six Asahi Denka factories and a group company Oxirane Chemical Co., Ltd. Mie Factory published an environmental report and disclosed their efforts on environment, safety and sanitation, and disaster prevention.
■ Lifesaving Skill Training at Chiba Factory
Chiba Factory holds lifesaving skill training regularly on first aid, cardiac massage, and artificial respiration, instructed by Sodegaura City firefighters.
■ Community Dialogue at Kashima Factory
Kashima Factory participated in responsible care community dialogue, a regular event of Kashima Combinat and presented their “Four Safety” activities.
