Digest
Mie factory needs a lot of energy for production activities. CO2 is emitted through energy consumption. CO2 emission amount is proportional to energy consumption amount including utility power. Both CO2 emission amount and CO2 emission per unit had increased in FY2007 due to a rise of energy consumption amount, even though the fuel conversion of steam boiler in FY 2004 was able to make both CO2 emission amount and emission per unit production decrease substantially. ![]() Production processes generate various industrial wastes. Waste generation amount per unit of 1t product production (specific waste per unit) had been reduced in FY 2007 compared to the previous year as a result of the waste reduction activities focused on the high functional products generating more wastes since FY 2006. We have been working on effective utilization of limited resources by recycling industrial wastes. We utilize the steam generated from the waste heat of burning waste at each process. The steam generation amount by recycling has been reduced due to reduction of waste amount itself in FY 2007. However 20% of steam consumption amount is supplied by heat recovery. ![]() "STOP-MIE" is Mie Factory's original safety activity which has been arranged the system developed in DuPont to the one suite to our Factory.
