Introduction of ESCO Programs
The focus issues of our plant in the past few years have been the following two; further energy consumption reduction and reduction and recycling ratio improvement of waste. After introducing cogeneration system (CGS)**, we have been reducing energy consumption by introducing more energy efficient facilities when upgrading them.
Furthermore we continue to reduce energy by introducing ESCO programs* which is energy efficiency improvement, since FY 2007.
* ESCO Program (abbreviation of "Energy Service Company"): comprehensive energy saving service program that include making proposal, providing facilities and their maintenance and management for energy saving.
** Cogeneration System : an energy efficient energy supply system to supply energy and heat by recovering waste heat from internal combustion.

Further energy saving measures
CO2 emission had been substantially reduced through energy saving measures such as CGS introduction in 2000, while CO2 emission of our factory in FY 1990 was 66,700t.
However, CO2 emission has been increasing in proportion to increase of production volume and energy consumption amount in the past few years.
It is expected that CO2 emission will increase to 65,000t in FY 2010 if production continue to rise.
We proceed with global warming prevention as the most important issue and seek to achieve 60,000t/a, which is 10% reduction compared to FY1990. Measures taken include upgrading production facilities which consume much energy to more energy efficient ones in FY 2008, improvement of production efficiency and update of other production facilities to more energy efficient ones.

Zero Emission Continued
We have been workin on reduction of final land-fill amount and increase of recycling ratio. In our factory, about 80% of the total waste consists of production by-product.
This production by-product was recycled and land-filled in FY2000 and 2001. However the final land-fill amount of the entire factory increased due to a stop of the recycling in FY 2002-2003.
We found subcontractors who could recycle all by-products and final land-fill amount of industrial waste decreased substantially in FY 2004.
As a result, in FY2006, we achieved zero emission for the first time and we still continue to achieve it now.
*Our Definition of Zero Emission: Making the ratio of final landfill less than 1% of the waste disposal by commissioned subcontractors
Change of Final Land-fill Amount

Social Action Programs
We clean up streets around the factory every month since 1994.
In addition, we are committed to activities that contribute to local community, such as letting the local sports teams and school club activities use our factory ground, and organizing summer festival for local residents.
We have been interacting with residents of a welfare facility in the city since few years ago. We continue such activities, even though it is only a small help.
