In FY2006, we promoted environmental activities in the following areas

1..	elimination of nuisance and complaint
2..	promotion of energy saving
3..	reduction of waste, and
4..	promotion of green procurement. In most areas we could meet the goals as stated below, with some exceptions.

Environmental facility investment value in FY2006 increased compared to previous FY, as large facility investment was made in FY2006. The cost savings through energy savings and resource savings also increased, due to efforts made at various divisions.

Energy Consumption Amount of FY2006 decreased, by 1.7% in case of fuel and by 0.7% in case of electricity compared to FY2005. Energy consumption per unit of 1t product production (specific energy consumption per unit) decreased by 4.5% as a result of energy saving measures.

We have been working on reduction of waste landfill amount, so that ADEKA group as a whole could achieve zero emission, making the ratio of final landfill less than 1% of the waste disposal by commissioned subcontractors.

PRTR Law Target Chemical Substances used in our factory amounts for 17 substances as of FY2006. In FY2004 the amount used in our factory increased; however, in FY2006 the amount decreased compared to FY2005. In addition, we made efforts to prevent waste generation. In FY2006, we achieved to reduce waste generation by 12kg compared to FY2005. Transportation amount also decreased by 7.5t.

For our safety activities, Health, Labor and Welfare Minister Encouragement Prize was awarded. In the whole nation, 19 factories are awarded this prize in FY2006. The reason for the award was that inspection and supervision by our safety and health management organization has been quite active and it resulted in low fire accident occurrence rate compared to other companies in the same trade.

In our transportation division, we promote Idling Stop Campaign in cooperation with transportation companies, so as to contribute to environmental protection.
In addition, because many of our products are designated as hazardous materials under the Fire Defense Law, emergency reporting drill is carried out regularly in order to prepare for accidents during transportation. We also work on traffic accident prevention, for example through regular check-ups by the National Organization for Automotive Safety & Victim's Aid.

In November 2006, we accepted 3 internship students from a local junior high-school.
