Four Safety Mark

Continuous Achievement of Zero Emission of Industrial Waste and Waste Generation ReductionIndustrial Waste Generation Amount/ Recycling Ratio
For reduction of industrial waste, we set the following goals in our 5-year plan towards 2010, with the result of FY2005 as a benchmark:
- 10% reduction of industrial waste generation
- Continuously achieving zero emission, i.e., zero final landfill
In FY2006, we continued to achieve zero emission. The goal was achieved by reducing industrial waste generation by 2 % compared to the set goal. Two measures contributed to this achievement are as follows: White clay waste generated in the oil manufacturing factory is utilized as a valuable water-repellent building material. Another measure is the utilization of white clay waste as a fermentation accelerator for livestock excretion at farms.

CO2 Emission Reduction, the Major Factor for Global Warming
CO2 Emission Amount/ Emission UnitIn order to reduce energy consumption and improve CO2 emission unit per production, we have promoted energy saving activities that include projects, such as reduction of equipment running and strengthened management of decent temperature of thermal tank and air conditioner. As a result, in FY2006 specific energy consumption unit was decreased by 1.4 percent and specific CO2 emission unit was decreased by 7.1% compared to previous year.

Safety and Compliance Training for Employees
As a part of OJT, on the job training, seminars of skill experience and of compliance were held 9 times. 177 employees, including those of subcontracting companies participated.
