Digest
Energy saving measures, such as introduction of cogeneration system, enabled substantial reduction of CO2 emission, compared to the CO2 emission of FY1990, 66,700t/a. In the past few years; however, CO2 emission has been slightly increasing, due to production amount increase. It is anticipated to increase to 72,000t/a in FY2010, if production continues to increase. We further promote global warming preventative measures, such as utilization of ESCO Programs, which is improvement of energy efficiency, improvement of production efficiency, and update of production facilities to more energy efficient ones, seeking to achieve 60,000t/a, which is 10% reduction compared to FY1990. ![]() In our factory, about 80% of the total waste consists of production by-product. We have been working on reduction of final land-fill amount by finding subcontractors who could recycle these by-products. In FY2006, we achieved zero emission for the first time, as we found subcontractors who could recycle two kinds of by-products that used to be land-filled as it could not have been recycled as of FY2005 Our Definition of Zero Emission: Making the ratio of final landfill less than 1% of the waste disposal by commissioned subcontractors ![]() PRTR Law First Class Target Chemical Substances registered from our factory in FY2006 are the 4 substances stated in the table below. As stated in the table below, we maintain the amount of discharge and transportation low. We continue to reduce discharge and transportation of hazardous substances including the First Class Target Chemical Substances, by further improving facilities and treatment measures.
* We started the use of piperazine in FY2006 Zero Accident was achieved in FY2006 as there was no accident regardless of whether those resulted in absence. We continue to seek Zero Accident by utilizing OHSAS Management System and daily practice of KY activities. KY stands for Japanese word for hazard prevention.
(Excluding commissioned subcontractor workers) Our factory is committed to activities that contribute to local community, such as cleaning up of streets around the factory, letting the local sports teams and school club activities use our factory ground, and organizing summer festival for local residents. We have been interacting with residents of a welfare facility in the city since few years ago. We visited the welfare facility, and made and donated rice-cakes. We continue such activities, even though it is only a small help. ![]() |
