FY2006 CSR Activities Achievements
We set objectives of our factory operation as follows:
Labor safety: Zero occupational accident
Food safety: Zero complaint
Facility safety: Zero trouble and accident
Environmental safety: Zero public nuisance and complaints, 1% reduction of industrial waste generation compared to the previous year, and 1% reduction of energy consumption compared to the previous year
Most objectives are achieved, even though some are not met. A special achievement to note is that recycling of industrial waste to construction material became possible through technological development.

Establishment of Kaizen, Improvement Project 2006
In FY2006, our factory established Kaizen, productivity improvement organization called "Kaizen, Improvement Project 2006". In the project, productivity improvement activities are carried out involving the whole company in order to increase awareness of all employees on issues of environmental problems and energy saving.

Waste Water Discharge to Water Body
Waste water discharge amount and COD from our factory are restricted by the Law concerning Special Measures for Conservation of the Environment of the Seto Inland Sea. The waste water is treated in our waste water treatment facility by pressure treatment, biological treatment, sand filtration, and activated carbon filtration. The treated water is discharged in a cleaner quality than regulated quality to Seto Inland Sea via Shimizu River in Iwaoka-Cho, Kobe City. Since September 3. 2007, the water is also discharged to Kakogawa River basin sewage system.

Energy Saving Measures
In line with our factory policy, we promote energy saving measures as follows. The measures are taken at various working groups at the Kaizen, Improvement Project 2006.
1. Introduction of energy efficient equipments
(Following the renewal of boilers, energy used at the factory was also changed from A type heavy oil to city gas since May 2007.)
2. Improvement of energy efficiency by production centralization
3. Reduction of losses, such as steam and cooling water loss
4. Turning off lights frequently, for example during lunch time and when not needed
5. Setting air conditioner temperature over 28°C in summer and below 20°C in winter
6. Stop engine when automobile is parked. Prohibit idling.

Waste Reduction Measures
Various wastes are generated from our production processes. Some of the reasons of waste amount increase in recent years are that production processes became more complex and frequency of cleaning of production line increased due to increase of smaller lot production of wider variety of products. Even though the goal for FY2006 was 1% reduction compared to previous year, we achieved 9% reduction as a result of the Kaizen, Improvement Project 2006, and promoting 5Rs; refuse (don't buy), reuse (use various times), repair, reduce, and recycle.

Complete Zero Disaster Achievement including Subcontracting CompaniesExercise as Back-ache Countermeasures
Our factory obtained OHSAS18001 certification in FY2003. We abstract risks and correct them. "Fundamental cause investigation" and "active countermeasures establishment" as slogans, we carried out discussion in the work place, training, check-ups and patrol. As a result of these activities and taking countermeasures to problems, we achieved complete zero disaster also at subcontracting companies.
